The short version: we keep your name and email so you can sign in, and almost nothing else. Your recipes are sent to an AI service to be converted and are not stored by us afterwards. Your Cookidoo® password never reaches our servers, because it never leaves your browser.

Who we are

Chopr is a small project run by one person. You can reach us at hello@trychopr.com about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data.

What we keep

When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

• Your name, email address and profile picture link

That is all we ask Google for, and all we are given. We cannot see your Google password, your contacts, your files or anything else in your Google account.

We also keep a record of each conversion you run, which contains:

• when it happened, whether it worked, and how long it took
• how many characters you sent — the size, never the text
• which appliance model and units you chose

This is what enforces the daily limits and tells us what things cost. It contains no part of your recipe.

What we do not keep

• Your recipes. The text, photo or link you submit is sent to the AI service, converted, and returned to your browser. We do not save the recipe you sent, the recipe that came back, or the photo.
• Your Cookidoo® password or login. These never reach our servers at all — see below.
• Your IP address. We store a one-way scrambled version that changes every day, used only to spot a runaway script. It cannot be turned back into an address, and the same connection cannot be recognised across two days.

How your recipe reaches Cookidoo®

This is the part people most want to understand, so plainly: the browser extension does the sending, from inside your own browser, using the Cookidoo® login you are already signed in with. Your password and session are never transmitted to us and we could not read them if we wanted to.

If you attach a photo to a recipe, the extension uploads it through Cookidoo®’s own image upload process — the same route as adding a photo in Cookidoo® directly. The photo goes from your browser to their image host. It does not pass through us.

Who else handles your data

• Anthropic — receives the recipe text or photo you submit, in order to convert it. Based in the United States.
• Supabase — stores your account (name, email, sign-in).
• Vercel — hosts the website.

That is the complete list. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account entirely. Email hello@trychopr.com and we will do it.

When an account is deleted, your name, email and profile are removed. The record that a conversion happened is kept but stripped of any link to you, because it is our own record of what things cost. It contains nothing that identifies you and nothing from your recipe.

Children

Chopr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Chopr is in early testing, so things may still move.
